Maryland Solar Project Notices

  • Two Public Meetings in the above-entitled matter will be held at the Lewistown Vol. District Fire Department (Fire Hall) located at 11101 Hessong Bridge Rd, Frederick, Maryland 21701, and are scheduled as follows:

    January 6th and January 7th from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

    The meetings concern Opossumtown Pike Solar 1, LLC’s upcoming application for a certificate of public convenience and necessity to construct a 5.0 MW solar photovoltaic generating facility in Frederick County, Maryland, located at Pear Lane at the coordinates 39.494436º, -77.444658º.  The meeting will begin with a brief presentation by the developer, who will then be available for comments and questions.

  • An initial public comment hearing in the above-entitled matter is scheduled for Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., via virtual platform, concerning Nanticoke Road Solar 2, LLC’s application for a certificate of public convenience and necessity to construct a 5 MW solar photovoltaic generating facility in Wicomico County, Maryland. The Project is proposed as a community solar facility and is anticipated to occupy approximately 33 acres of a 41.9-acre property located at 28260 Nanticoke Road, Salisbury, MD and is identified as Tax Map 0037, Grid 0011, Parcel 0013 and Tax Map 0037, Grid 0011, Parcel 0016 in Wicomico County, Maryland.

    The initial public comment hearing will be held virtually, begin with a presentation by the Applicant, followed by brief statements by the Department of Natural Resources, Power Plant Research Program (“PPRP”); Maryland Office of People’s Counsel (“OPC”); and the Technical Staff of the Public Service Commission of Maryland (“Staff”) as to their respective roles in the case.

  • A pre-hearing conference in the above-entitled matter is scheduled for Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 9:30 a.m., via virtual platform, concerning Herman Highway Solar 1, LLC’s application for a certificate of public convenience and necessity to construct a 3.0 MW solar photovoltaic generating facility in Kent County, Maryland.

At the pre-hearing conference, any preliminary matters will be discussed, including consideration of any petitions to intervene that have been filed, and the establishment of a procedural schedule. 

    Petitions to intervene must be filed on or before Friday, January 9, 2026, and may be filed electronically through the Commission’s website at www.psc.state.md.us, or by first-class mail with the Commission’s Executive Secretary, Andrew S.   • A pre-hearing conference in the above-entitled matter is scheduled for Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at 1:00 p.m., concerning Spring Haven Road Solar 1, LLC’s application for a certificate of public convenience and necessity to construct a 5.0 MW solar photovoltaic generating facility in Allegany County, Maryland. 

    At the pre-hearing conference, any preliminary matters and the establishment of a procedural schedule will be discussed. The pre-hearing conference will be held virtually and streamed live for viewing via the PULJ Division’s YouTube Channel. https://bit.ly/2X6wLiP  

    Petitions to intervene must be filed on or before Thursday, January 15, 2026, and may be filed electronically through the Commission’s website at www.psc.state.md.us or sent by first-class mail to the Commission’s Executive Secretary, Andrew S. Johnston, 6 St. Paul Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21202-6806, referencing Case No. 9819.

  • An initial public comment hearing in the above-captioned matter is hereby scheduled for Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at 6:00 p.m., via virtual meeting., concerning Blacks Mill Road Solar 1, LLC’s application for a certificate of public convenience and necessity to construct a 5.0 megawatt (“MW”) community solar energy generating facility and associated interconnection facilities (the “Project”). The Project is anticipated to occupy an approximate 46.75 acres of a 142.49-acre property located at 7308 Blacks Mill Road, described by Tax Map 0032, Grid 0009, Parcel 0034 in Thurmont, Frederick County, Maryland.
